"Bring on the Heat"

Sorry for the delayed post, I’ve been at my grandparent’s trailer for a few days and they don’t have any Internet. Tuesday was quite a busy day! I had to be into work at 7:00, nice and early. Since I was going to be doing a breakfast shift and lunch coverage, I had to pack two costumes—my bag was a heifer!
The breakfast shift went pretty well. It’s been hotter than a mug down here the past few days and since the restaurant is semi-open, it was muggy. Plus too, they have us do something called a “celebration” during every set. Basically, we dance around the restaurant with maraca things for about two minutes. Well, by the end of our little conga line, I’m heaving like a 500lb. man that just jogged three miles. I thought I was gonna barf.
After the breakfast shift ended, I headed over to another section of the park to take care of lunch coverage. I had a lot of fun over there, but my goodness, it was warm outside. It’s been a while since I’ve had to do regular sets, especially outside, so I’m not used the heat.
After finishing up my morning shift, I headed back the apartment to pack. Before I knew it, it was time to head back into work for the parade shift.
It was only a one-parade night, so I thought it wouldn’t be too bad. I was wrong. For some reason, everything messed up tonight. By the time we got to Frontierland, we were crawling, if moving at all. For about ten minutes, we stayed in the same place doing the same routine over and over again. Every time we would turn inward, we would give each other the “what the heck is going on” eyes. Finally, they gave us the go ahead and our driver stepped on the gas. He got us out of there real quickly. It has been a long, long day.
