I had to get some final project stuff wrapped up today. It seems like everything you have to do kind of comes to a head right at the same time: I’m finishing up all of my classes and undergoing an apartment inspection tomorrow. I’m doing my best to not let the stress of it all get to me.
For my group project, the team had to come up with a new invention and market it. We came up with “Wonder Wands;” they’re markers kids can draw in the tub with. This morning, Jessica was kind enough to help me film the commercial over at Mickey’s Retreat. It really is beautiful over there! Mickey’s Retreat is a private park and lake reserved for Disney employees. It’s smooth.
After that, she headed to work and I started to clean the apartment for inspection. I had the bathroom. Sick! I think I spent them majority of the time dry heaving.
I got that done soon enough and was able to take a little kinda sorta nap before heading into work. Everything went really well tonight, but it was hot as a mug! Plus the parade was moving slowly for some reason, so it felt like it dragged on forever!
Our costumes are made up of a football type of pad that is laden with little metallic cubes that snap on and snap off. When they are in contact with the snap, they light up. So, as I’m sure you can image, when the outfits are on and a cube is removed, that snap (attached the football pad thing) is like an outlet because the electricity is fed through the snap and then into the attached cube. Got that all (it’ll be important). Well one of the other performers removed a cube from his outfit, and then convinced a spare to stick his tongue on that “live” snap whilst his costume was one a.k.a. lick a light socket. The spare was completely oblivious…for a moment or two…no sooner had his tongue touched the snap then he was screaming like a three year old girl and running around the base! It was incredible. Naturally, the other performers were falling out of their chairs roaring with laughter! It was hilarious!
After work, I headed over to Jessica’s house to watch the season finale of “Glee,” which was absolutely incredible, and to finish filming our commercial. All in all, I’m pretty happy with the whole thing. It looks good, considering the amount of time we actually put into it.
