"Life After Harry"

So I came through on my promise—today was quite adventurous. Last night after I had finished blogging, I starting chatting online with a girl I had met earlier in my program, Jenni. Our conversation brought about me mentioning my going to church the next day to which she responded “It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to church.” Well, after one thing led to another, I found myself a church buddy for this Sunday!
I got up at 10 this morning, got ready, and headed with Jenni to the First Christian Church of Orlando! We got there a little late, but overall things went well. The pastor did a pretty good job and the worship was pretty good. Afterwards, Jenni said that she had really needed that. Isn’t it cool how God works like that! So I ended up coming back to the apartment and making lunch, after which I just kind of relaxed for a while.
Around 3:30 I headed over to Jenni’s apartment for dinner and a movie! She made potato pizza (which was actually delicious) and we reveled in “Miss Congeniality.”
Around 5:45 I headed off to work at the Magic Kingdom! Today was a big day—it was my first parade performance ever! Jenni’s roommate Rob, was working alongside of me and so he kindly agreed to show me the ropes. First we went into cosmetology to get our makeup done! That was fun—no stabbing of the eye tonight; granted my right eye looked a ton better than my left, but whatever! After cosmetology, we jumped in a van and headed to costuming where we got our stuff all set. The outfit itself was pretty cool but it was also pretty heavy! I little bit more than I had expected! I felt like I was wearing a football uniform! It was at that point I was reminded why football never ever appealed to me!
After reviewing the choreography in my head, the herd of us made our way to step off (the point where the parade begins). So I get up on the float and her that music crescendo and the doors fly open (we were the first float out)! What a rush! All you can hear is the “ooh” and “ahh”s of the crowd and see hundreds of camera’s going! It’s wonderful! Other than forgetting the choreography a couple of times and a few costume malfunctions all seemed to go well! I really enjoyed it!
The next time I go in I get to see the notes my manager has for me! I thought I did alright, but we’ll see just how wrong I am. ☺ Tomorrow’s gonna be a fun, but long day. I’m up at 6:15 and don’t get done til about 6. Time to gird the loins!
