Wow, I cannot believe it is already October. The time has truly flown by! Today was so much fun! I got to sleep in which was wonderful. I met up with the Smiths at the Hollywood Studios around 11. They were getting their picture taken with Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. However, to get to them, I had to walk through the Power Ranger section. The Pink Ranger totally wanted me! Let’s just say it’s no coincidence her wristwatch/walkie-talkie started going off the second I walked by.
After hooking up with one of the best families around (that one was free Josh ☺), we headed over to ride the Toy Story Mania ride. Well since Josh had only been able to get three fast passes this morning; Christi and I sat outside with Bella. It was fun just getting to talk with Christi for a while. Plus, we got to watch a Green Army Man make a dad do pushups.
Once Josh and the boys came out, we headed over to the “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” Playground. It was so much fun! Despite sticking me hand in a wad of hot gum, Josh got felt up by a three year old (I’ll let him explain that one to you ☺), and Nolie decided to act the hero and do a hand-standed flip with a belly roll down the slide in front of about 30 families. As you can imagine, every parent in the vicinity moved forward with a “Oooh.” Good news is Nolie is fine, but let me tell ya that boy’s gonna be a star one day—he really knows how to work a crowd.
Soon after, we headed to the “Lights, Stars, and Motor Cars” show. The boys really really seemed to love that! I have to admit, I did too! I want to be a stuntman so bad!
We finished up there around 2 and quickly made our way back up the front of the park for the “Block Party Parade” that started at 3. Well just before it started, I headed to the main gate because I had to run into work for about an hour today. We were having a college program seminar. So right before I get to the exit, the parade starts, which means I’m stuck because they won’t let me cross in front of the floats, so I sat and watched the whole thing. It was actually a lot of fun.
The seminar itself wasn’t too bad. I was sitting in the front row while the host played a trivia game with the audience. All the sudden a friend of mine comes in whom I haven’t seen in weeks. She proceeds to scream and hug me while I’m still seated. Now this was one powerful hug—she was pushing me so far back into my seat that my feet started to go up into the air, if that gives you any idea. Once she had release her death grip on me (let’s face it, when you’ve got biceps like mine, you get used to hugs like this ☺ JUST KIDDING), we look up to see the host and the audience staring at us. He then proceeds to say into the microphone, “We can give you a few more minutes if you like.” So now, I look like a) the biggest skeeze ever or 2) the biggest playa ever—neither of which are good for my street cred. The seminar itself wasn’t too bad. They talked about maintaining the integrity of the company Walt Disney worked so hard to start. They ended with a bang, quite literally. They finished up in a way only Disney can by shooting the audience with streamer/confetti guns. It was at that point I realized that I’m working where I should be ☺.
Once I finished up there, I headed back to Hollywood Studios. We all went to eat at Pizza Palace. After dinner, Christi let me take the Hoverround for a spin. It completely solidified in my mind why I’ll be getting one the day I turn 60. Goodness, with me being half deaf and now developing seizures, I figure I’m like prime meat for one of their scholarships! And boy am I gonna pimp that thing out, its gonna have flames, a flag, and a fan! Holla! But for today, I settled with circles around the courtyard; however I did put my let up on the wheel though, so it looked like I had a use for the thing. After that, we headed back to Toy Story Mania once more and then onto the main event: taking Nicco on Tower of Terror.
I was so proud of him; he took it like a champ! Granted there were a couple of times he looked like he had just digested his heart, but that boy is a man’s man. All things considered, he really seemed to like the ride!
We all headed back to the hotel and just spent some time hanging out! We decided that my dad, Larry Dean, has the ideal name for a sausage salesman. ☺ Love you dad!
I headed back to the apartment and had to make a Wal-mart run so Jessica was nice enough to go with me! I just got back from there and just now realized that I have to be up for class in about five hours. That being said, I’ll talk to you all tomorrow! ☺
