"Costuming and Cosmo!"

I got to sleep in this morning. It was wonderful! I got up at 10 and headed down to meet Jessica at the pool. We lounged around there for about an hour, after which I headed back to my apartment. I made some lunch and turned on a little Reba. That’s pretty much how I spent my early afternoon—eating and watching TV (I know you all are wondering how I maintain this god-like body, aren’t you? ☺). I got into work a little early today. I was a character reject again, in fact I’m scheduled to be a character reject for pretty much the next two weeks (with a few awesome exceptions). I’m not complaining though! The exceptions make it worth it!
After I clocked in, I headed down to the cosmetology department to see if there was anything I could do. I find that stuff (stuff being wigs and makeup) so interesting. I ended up staying the majority of the day in there. I got to glimpse upon the wonder that is the Jack Sparrow aisle! I felt like a kid in a candy store! It was one of those rare moments in life that should be replayed in slow motion with sappy music in the background!
For a change of scenery, the duty captain sent me down to the costuming department. I helped out in there for a couple of hours and that wasn’t too bad. Except for the Tigger that was so sweaty I could feel it through my protective gloves. I think I might have gagged.
After dinner, I headed back down to cosmetology and just helped them to prepare for tomorrow. It was a ton of fun and I learned a lot in just the one day I was down there. I’m really looking forward to trying to help out again tomorrow.
Today I really realized how much of a difference a positive attitude and outlook could have on a person. I had multiple people comment today on my upbeat-ness! It just seems like so many people choose to live their life in the negative, that it takes something extraordinary to enable them to have a good day, and something trivial to confirm their negativity. Why live life like that? What’s the allure to getting up in the morning? Being positive and excited about life can be such a great witnessing tool down here! C.S. Lewis still continues to amaze me!
