My body is sore! Let me explain just how it got that way. I was woke up this morning by yet another of Mike’s weird bodily noises. This one still sounded like an animal that needed to be put out of its misery and trust me, at that point, I was ready to oblige ☺!
I headed out to work at 11. I got all changed and clocked in—today was going to be a good spare day! Why? Because I have “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” with me. I get all clocked in proceed to make my way over the duty captain’s office. The goal was to pull a few strings so that I could do some sets for Josh, Christi, and the kids! Well, no can do. I think the lovely check in man was reading my mind because he instantly told me to head over to the Contemporary Resort. So I went a-runin’ down the hall to prep the rest of my costume. Another fellow spare had taken care of the majority of it for me! We have each other’s backs. It a part of our code! We’re thinking about getting group tatts—our very own homemade dark marks if you will! We get a group discount if we buy from the guy that runs his shop out of his windowless van.
After finishing up, I headed to the resort. We sat at the side gate forever waiting for the security guard to let us in. The driver laid on the horn to solve the problem and then got scolded by a passing garbage truck. It was awesome!
I had seven sets today and each was about 40 minutes. I went out on set with all this energy. I even loved the kids who were smacking me in the face, punching my arm, and trying to rip my gloves off—the little cherubs.
Lunchtime drained me of a lot of that energy. I still think I did all right but seeing as we were forced to pick up the pace, I couldn’t spend as much time with each family. So, that was a little bit of a bummer.
I finished off tonight at about 9:45. My group hopped in the van and headed back to the base. I ran and helped Sophie and a few other fellow cosmetologers for awhile before clocking out for the night. Overall, it was a good day, but I’m exhausted. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I got out on set today and start dancing like a fiend only to realize the song we’re supposed to dance to, hadn’t come on yet so I looked like a straight up i-di-ot! That brought on quite a few raised eyebrows! Gotta love days like that!
