"Employee Perks"

So today…well, today I slept in until about 11:30, yes, that’s code for I had a day off. I got up and caught up with my good friend Lucille Ball for about an hour. After lunch, I got ready and headed to the Imax to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with my roommate, Mike. Didn’t realize that the first twelve minutes were in 3-D! Let’s just say, it was epic beyond belief! After the movie finished up, we headed back to the apartment. I got ready quickly and drove myself up to the Magic Kingdom. You see, dear reader, I was meeting my friend Jessica at work. After seeing her do what she does best, we got some dinner and waited around in the park. Why? I’m happy you thought that. Because tonight was Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade cast preview night. The park closed at 9 p.m. and all the Magic Kingdom cast just kind of waited around until about 11:00, then we all headed down to Main Street. See the performers have about a week of all nighters they pull, practicing for the parade. Well, tonight was the final dress rehearsal, before they unveil the thing Friday, I believe. For those of you who haven’t seen it…it. is. amazing. It’s the best parade I’ve ever seen at Disney. They had the headless horseman leading the parade off, on a legit black horse! He just came galloping down Main Street. It was incredible! There was a Pirates of the Caribbean section that made me want to scream with delight. All the sudden I see Captain Barbossa rounding the corner of Main Street, of course, juggling his green apple in one hand. He was the first one to wish me a happy birthday. He didn’t say it verbally, but rather with his eyes. You had to be there. Then the Jack Sparrow float came by! EPICALLY EPIC BEYOND ALL EPICNESS! That was all followed by the coolest Haunted Mansion section headed up by Disney’s favorite grave keeper and bloodhound. They had dancing gravediggers with their shovels, ghosts, and waltzing zombies. I loved it! Needless to say, I think Halloween is going to be my favorite holiday whilst I’m down at Disney!
