"The Return of Huggie"

A Sunday off—it was wonderful! I got up this morning and headed back to the First Christian Church of Orlando. It had been almost a month since my last visit! As I’m sure you can guess, Huggie was right there to great me. Only this time, she had brought some of her sorority sisters. I quickly found myself good friends with three older ladies. One of which was apologizing for the lipstick residue she left on my shirt (could you blame her, I was wearing my skinny jeans today! ☺). After Huggie finished divulging just how she got her artificial hip, I headed into the sanctuary. We had some great worship music this morning and a wonderful sermon from Pastor Shan based on the Crazy Love book after which we took communion. Ya know, you don’t really know how much you miss community worship until you’ve been deprived of it for a month or so. I always thought that singing in your car was the same but it really isn’t. It felt so good to be at church today!
After church, I ran to Publix to grab some groceries, and then I headed home, ate some lunch, and did some cleaning. We’ve got some people coming to inspect our apartment on Tuesday and if it’s not up to their cleanliness code we have to pay them to clean it. I needed Tiffany Coston here today! She would have loved that challenge! They would have erected a statue in her honor!
Anyway, after cleaning, I ran back out to Outback and grabbed myself my own personal Blooming Onion. Though it was a little spontaneous, the appetizer was delicious! It really hasn’t been a very prosperous day, just an easy one.
My friend Liz at school posted this quote on her Facebook status and I just love it, so I thought I would share it with all of you (thanks Liz). Though I’m not a big fan of Henry David Thoreau, I loved the quote. “I want to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life; and not, when I come to die, discover that I had not lived.” What a beautiful quote! Pastor Shan spoke this morning about living a life that is not filled with regrets. I hope that on my deathbed I can say, I took advantage of the opportunities God gave me and truly squeezed every last ounce out of life that I possibly could. And like James 4 says, we are not guaranteed tomorrow so friends lets continue to live life this way. Don’t take it for granted. God’s kept us here for a reason, we must take advantage of every opportunity he gives us to fulfill that reason.
